Hosting
Hosting is on a shared cPanel server and is provided 'as available' per the shared resources or the Web Host. Web Host gives no warranty, express or implied, for the Product/Services, including any reimbursement for loss of income due to disruption of services by WebHost or its providers. The Customer irrevocably waives all rights to claim reimbursement for lost business income resulting from interruptions to the Product/Services provided by the Web Host. This is because we have found that nearly all New Zealand and Australian web hosts don't stick to their word and consistently deliver good service at a reasonable price. We are continually looking for an improved hosting service. If you are such a host, please contact us.
Private, dedicated, virtual, and out-of-country servers are also available.
Note: Until we can find an excellent local web host, Wellington Websites will host client websites overseas. We are happy with the results and service.
Backups
A full cPanel backup is done once a week, and MySQL backups are done as needed. Weekly and Monthly backup services are available at a cost. Backups are retained for two months and then deleted.
Right to Refuse Work, Cancel Contract, or Ongoing Work
Wellington Websites and their staff and agents reserve the right to refuse work or to cancel a contract or ongoing work based on such reasons as:
- Aesthetic, design, or ethical reasons.
- The client refuses to establish and/or maintain acceptable business practices, policies, and procedures regarding data integrity, security, and accessibility to needed resources (Example: procedure for maintaining password security). The web host maintains minimum backups; beyond that, it is the client's responsibility to ensure ongoing data integrity.
- Excessive scope-changing once the project has been accepted and work has started. It is understood that some changes to a project can occur during building, but changes of more than 20% of the scope of design will incur hourly change rates billed at $145 per hour and will be supplemental to the quoted project price. Any hourly overages are due and payable weekly.
- Refusal to upgrade the website or software to the most current versions.
Purchaser Responsibility:
All of our websites and programming are easily updatable and changeable by anybody. The purchasers are responsible for finding a person with adequate intelligence and technical knowledge to make changes to the website. We offer all training for the first year, which is included in the website design price for complete website packages. Refusal of training will result in the cancellation of that current contract. If a shopping cart system is purchased, the website purchaser's responsibility is to maintain the cart and handle customer service issues (such as people who don't know how to buy online and problems understanding how to use a payment processor or manage their login details).
Bringing in Your Own Systems Admin
Bringing in your own systems administrator is not allowed. You cannot have two admins and protect the overall system's integrity and security. Insistence on accessing the SuperAdmin areas of the website and the hosting server will immediately cancel your contract. We do this out of experience and for the safety of all our customers.
Defamation
If you don't like our work, tell us; post it on social media or publicly express your feelings, and that is called defamation. Defamation is a chargeable offence. In such cases, all contracts will be cancelled immediately.
Any refunds for such cancellations of contracts or ongoing work are at the sole discretion of Wellington Websites and its staff or agents.
